I'm not sure it ever had a proper funeral, but RIP Mac Verushka lipstick, you beautiful tube of matte black/plum loveliness you. Why oh why did you have to be discontinued and leave me ardently searching for your replacement? It's been years (seriously...years) and nothing, nothing has even come close to your deliciously dark blackberry colour and vampy stay-put finish.
I'm back home in Wales and LOVE rooting through my mum's make up - it's a childhood thing I can't seem to let go of. I found a MAC Verushka (sorry Mummy, mine now) which is one of the few retro matte shades they've done (Ruby Woo is a Retro Matte to give you a clue about how matte it is.) It's that perfect catwalky Goth trend shade, very chic and a truly bold statement. It actually separates a bit when you wear it which adds to the effect and makes the perfect base to layer on a metallic gloss. I'm dying to get Hourglass Extreme Sheen in Siren, a bright fiery red to go with this for the ultimate statement lips this winter. No kissing though because it would go everywhere. In fact no eating or drinking, just a death stare. This would be the Wilhemina Slater of lipstick/gloss combos.
