REVIEW: My week in beauty...

ONE

There are some beautiful new shades from the OPI Touring America AW11 collection coming up. Haven't tried any on yet, but they're all very chic, no crazy colours which - actually - I'm really loving! Also, inhales the little pack of New Orleans Pralines that came with (they're to die for!)

TWO

Chatted with the LOVELY Gail Porter this morning - what an amazing woman. She's lost her hair twice, had tonnes of other stuff happen and is incredibly honest about it all. This is what we need, more REAL celebs - major props to her. Ignore my glowing face, it was hot, I was sweaty and didn't use MAC's blot powder - so it's my own fault. That's the end of it.

THREE

LCN white crackle polish - bargain-tastic - especially for under a fiver. Thoughts or a raspberry ripple anyone?

FOUR

A brilliant facialist once advised me to try Gloprofessional's Ultra 15% Vitamin C Serum, then their B5Hydration serum. So far, so good! No obvious results as of yet - only been a week mind. www.gloprofessional.com

FIVE

How hard is it to get a moisturiser WITH SPF protection THAT DOESN"T cause oily skin to erupt? Well, it's probably easier to keep Amy WInehouse off crack, put it that way. Thank you, thanks, TY, Estee Lauder. With this light-weight SPF 15 lotion you have changed my life. Totally addicted this easily makes my top ten beauty products of all time.

TESTY: Estee Lauder Pure Colour Gloss Stick

I would have done a swatch, but I was so utterly uninspired by this product. Lipgloss in a stick, man, the Gods of imagination have clearly been shining down on Estee Lauder. Hmm…

So, this gloss stick malarkey then. It's not the worst product ever and if anything you can rely on Lauder for quality base products (less suited for dark skin tones though.) But for me, red should be nothing other than pure shocking pigment. Glossy translucent reds rarely work and end up looking like you've licked the jam pot. Not chic, just sticky. Eww!

TESTY: Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Cream Eyeshadow

I'm not the biggest fan of cream eyeshadows. They only suit un-creased fairly young-ish eyelids, which isn't a massive timeframe and not one that’s in Lauders remit. These are lovely colours however and quite bold for Estee Lauder, probably why they're a limited run. Apply with a dabbing motion to get the pigment to build up and finish with a darker colour on the outer edges to stop it looking too teeny-goth.

LUST: Estee Lauder Perfume Pendant

WANT WANT WANT...

It's almost a given that any gold coloured gimmicky thing will be on my wish list. I was clearly a tacky skanky magpie in my last birth because HOT DAMN I love a bit of bling.

This perfume could smell like donkey wee mixed steaming sewage and I'd still buy it.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?
