IN THE BAG!: Anita B...

There's a gleeful sense of voyeurism when you’re peering into a make up bag that isn’t your own. I love watching other people putting on their make-up and seeing what they use and how they do it. With this in mind, I'm hoping to do one or more of these a week with a whole cross-section of interesting people picking out their top 5 products.

What’s in my make up bag?

Anita, journalist, make-up artist and beauty blogger

I’m a luxe addict, no doubt about it. But my day to day make up bag is much less high- end than I initially thought.

What make up bag do you have? It’s an Estee Lauder one and part of the Christmas 2010 gift. Bling-tastic alright!

Talk me through the products then! L-R Clockwise from top.

MAC Blot Powder in Deep Dark
Being of the oily skinned variety, I need a lil helping hand! Blot powder gets rid of shine, without adding coverage and cakeyness like regular powder does. I’ve used it for years and years. Make up artists use it on set for this very reason.

Vintage flick comb
I bought this at a vintage fair (P&A in Hammersmith if anyone cares!) Its one of a kind and amazing for emergency backcombing!

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Sandstone

True story, when they first came out I must have been about 17. I bought the original larger one in New York, then true to form, opened it immediately, dropped it and it shattered everywhere. It still haunts me - no word of a lie! The little one is really handy and doubles up as an eye shadow too.

Kreepsville Coffin mirror

I have to say, the looks I get using this mirror on the tube in the morning, surrounded by suits, is worth its weight in gold. I just like creepy things ok?!

Bourjois Blush in 22 Tomette d'or
Although it’s in my bag, I don’t rate it that highly, except for the smell of them. My mum used Bourjois blush when I was younger, and the smell is really nostalgic so I keep using it. The pigment isn’t really strong enough for darker skin tones (opt for Illamasqua or MAC I’d say) but it is teeny tiny which is a major plus.

Restylane Hand Cream www.restylane.com

This is a newish brand mainly be sold at medi-spa’s. This hand cream has an immediate plumping action and it’s a fabulous size. Its super chic too for a medi-brand.
