Now I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment, we should feel beautiful the way we were born yadda yadda. The thing is that women have been altering themselves for years. First it was corsets, then came pan cake foundation and forties make up, then came Motley Crue and hairspray (if you go to the US, pick up a can of Aquanet hairspray, its liquid plastic), then it was perms, then it was poker straight without a curl in sight. My point is that all of these things are part of the decoration and promenade of female adornment. Sooner or later we go OTT on them and they start to become unattractive and disappear into beauty history.
I’m the first to admit I find fake locks with permatans a real eyesore, but done tastefully extensions are fabulous! Not everyone’s tresses grow into a beautiful cascade of soft shiny hair. Mine’s really weedy, and what about the people with alopecia or any form of hair-loss eh?
False lashes are a bit of a novelty for the wearer, eyelash extensions the same (personally they always look fake to me and kinda weird, butttt...each to their own.)
If a little bit of bloody fake hair makes you feel better (provided its properly sourced etc) who gives a crap? Its non invasive and is a nice little ego boost. We all need that from time to time, however we choose to do it. If I feel rubbish I pop down to MAC and stock up = HAPPY.
I for one don't to be judged as a last resort (slow news day was it?) by some smug-ass bird in the back of a Sunday paper. Nothing riles me up more than people making a half arsed judgment on an industry they know nothing about and patronizing their own sex to boot.
