BEAUTYFOOD: What do you eat for beauty?

Who doesn't want beautiful and youthful. Not you? YOU ARE A LIAR.

I realised last night that loads of the foods I eat, I don't well...really love and just eat for vanity reasons (or health reasons, lets dress it up a bit). So here's my list of beauty foods.

FISHIES

Not the biggest fan of fish, but it’s packed with omega-3's and I'm convinced its the reason my 57 year old mother - who eats nothing but - has not a wrinkle on her face. I hope so or I’ve been torturing myself for nothing!

SEEDS

They're hardly filling are they? You don't crave seeds or think to yourself, ‘I'd like a nice bowl of seeds for my breakfast!’ But I do sprinkle this seed mix on my porridge in the morn for another omega-3 boost and well, I’m kinda used to it now.

UDO'S OIL

I do actually like this now, but initially thought it was vile. I seem to be obsessed with omega-3 but genuinely think it helps my dry and itch-prone skin. As a responsible health journalist I should point out it has plenty of other health benefits too from brain to heart health and everything in-between. I pour this on my brekkie and salads, anything going in fact!

BERRIES

Let’s face it; unless you live somewhere hot or create a carbon footprint the size of a yeti your berries will be sour and TINY. British berries taste like crap without a whole load of ice cream or sugar added. And yet, ever on the quest for beauty, I eat a portion of those sour little bastards every day. Why? Antioxidants that take away free radicals that cause cell damage and ageing. And I always get the British ones as I now have some weird inbuilt eco-guilt for buying any exotic fruit or veg. *le sigh*

MANUKA HONEY

Not only does it taste a bit rank (not yummy like normal honey), but its downright daylight robbery as jars can be anything form £5-20 a pop. And it doesn't go that far either, let me tell you. I use this in my morning cuppa to avoid illness and cold associated grossness like a flaky nose and dry lips.
