SPA FUN: Kempinski, Gozo

I've just come back from here, as in this is actually almost my view:

Having been at the Gozo Kempinski, an ayurvedic spa for a week, I have to say its the first time I've been relaxed in quite some time. If you're new to Ayurveda, its a traditional Indian form of medicine/massage. First you talk to an Ayurvedic doctor about any issues you have health-wise and you're prescribed a suitable treatment. The treatments are very rustic, you lie on a wooden slab, no frills and you're more or less butt naked. These are the ones I had. (My circulation sucks and I have dry skin FYI...HOT)

Udvarthanam
Combats cellulite and strengthens muscles. Head massage, neck massage then a full body massage with oils followed by a scrub with a herbal powder.

Ayurveda Bath
Full body massage with oils, then a herbal bath covered in pink flowers which helps to heal skin problems.

Maharani facial
A head massage followed by facial using red sandalwood. Its a tough scrub, but you're left glowing! Wouldn't advise if you've got fragile skin.

Very much reccomended, lots of pools, gym, squash and tennis courts and lovely cuisine. I love Ayurveda, European style massage just doesn't cut it for me any more, so if you're after an intensive massage then maybe give it a crack!
